and the specs with a different one for 1k dollars…the pcs specs would be the same or better

Who decided that putting all the input ports on the back of the computer monitor was a good idea? If you have your computer facing a corner or a wall, you have to drag it out of the corner every time you want to plug in. The apple software works well, but it limits your ability to control the software and it makes decisions for you that you may not want. I have worked in computers for over thirty years and have worked in professional recording and movie production and Mac is useful there, but in day to day routine stuff, you are better off sinking money into the best PC you can afford, and operate on a Linux, or even XP format. Most people get frustrated with their PCs because of wait times. The problem is, that if buy the cheapest product, you get poor results. It’s like using a wood mallet to hammer in a nail.

I have owned the 24″model for just under 1 year and this computer has been in the shop twice and getting ready to go for the third time. I have had enough. Luckily I purchased the extended warranty but lets see just what that covers. Buyer beware and do some research before purchasing this equipment. The screen is the cheapest poorest quality on the market and apple has been replacing them at a feverish pace. They can afford to keep pumping these cheap computers out into the market and replacing components because of the huge markup they charge for these imacs. Basically they charge about 3 times the cost of a similar PC and try to get the public to believe that it is worth it. Don’t but into the hype. It is very inconvenient to give up your computer for weeks at a time. This is a poorly constructed product that sells based on the hype of the ipod. Do your research and google Apple imac problems and complaints and or screen problems and you will surely be enlightened.

Apple gets one star for Poor quality control, I used to believe in Apple products not any more. I should have picked up on, but missed was the fact the power cord was not in plastic wrap, it was just rolled up and at the bottom of box. If you Buy this product check, that the mouse, keyboard, power cord and Computer are factory sealed and packed. Thank you Amazon for a quick and full refund.

I am just about to replace the harddrive on my second imac. In the first one, the power supply shorted out and melted the screen. It was 18 months old so apple said they would not fix or replace it. The current one was purchased 375 days ago – 10 days out of warranty – and the hard drive just died. Again, Apple says they will not cover anything. I get to purchase a new harddrive. I have owned dozens of PCs for myself and my company and never had hardware problems like these.
The wonderful mac software is good if you don’t know much about computers and are willing to let apple decide how you should use a computer. If you have been using computers and don’t need Uncle Mac deciding what you should do and how you should do it, get a PC. I find them easier PCs easier to control because the software lets you do what you want.
Overall, the mac looks great in my living room, is very quite but has required a lot more repairs and created more frustrations then a simple pc.
